Hi everyone ,I am a new poster here, I would like some opinion of parents got kids at Holland park as my daughter Just got offered at holland park from the waiting list, she is informed that she is in band A , I dont really know how different in term of teaching or anything.Problem is she got a place at a private school by mean tested award but the school quite far ,not local area.so I dont know if we should take the local school and cancel the scholarship ? It hard decision to make for us really because she is good at math not arts , thank you

The 6th is small and there is not much choice of subjects which is why my DD is leaving. The facilities are relatively poor. A lot do maths and science. They get kids into Oxbridge, medical school and Russell Group so they are successful. It is selective - all As preferred.

There is a massive choice of Sixth Forms in central London and many are selective and pay little heed to distance, church or the rest of the year 7 criteria. My strong advice is to think of the next 5 years - things can change massively in that time.

My friend's dd loved Bancroft but she paid fees although by no means rich and spent huge amounts on keeping up with her daughter's friendship group for whom money was no problem. Her other children went to local grammars.
