What school bag is considered cool in Y7?

DS starts year 7 in Sept. He's not one of the cool kids at primary and I still remember my parents buying my brother a 'square' briefcase when he started secondary. Everyone laughed at him but he never told my parents.

I've seen the kids tend to favour rucksacks round here. What are the so called cool brands at the moment?

I bought my DS a cheap Lakeland plain black rucksack in yr 5 and he is still using it now he's in yr 7, luckily he just doesn't care about brands yet. But DD is yr 4 is already brand conscious....

My DS has a North Face rucksack, bought for starting Y7. I think it was about £24 - it's lasted him well (I run it through the washing machine hardly ever occasionally) and he's nearly finished Y10 and it's still in great nick. He's not v style conscious but I think he would have said if it wasn't de riguer because he has got opinions on other things. Only thing I would say is that, although it's quite roomy, it's not big enough for books and PE kit so that has to go in an additional bag.

I have 2 DS's in different schools- my DS at a Grammar school has a 'kind to your back backpack' from the uniform shop. Most of his friends have them. They carry a lot of books! My other DS in the local comp has a Duffer backpack and I've seen lots of students from his school with them! I gave him some money and he went and chose it himself.

They both have separate sports bags too

I have boy/girl twins in Year 7.

Daughter has a Paul Frank rucksack, Son had a blue Adidas Originals messenger bag. Both are regarded as cool bags. Other cool bags are Superdry/Vans/Converse rucksacks and Nike flight bags (very small but you then carry your folders).

Superdry. We went through a couple of bags in yr 7 then got a superdry. Cool & lasts.
