Marymount International Kingston

We have just been to see Marymount International and really liked it. Does anyone know much about it? We would be looking as parents of Day pupil. Any advice would be appreciated.

Some friends of ours sent their DD there, and really rate it. We considered it for DD1, but went with another international school in the end. It was a bit too Catholic for us, and DD1 didn't really want a single sex school.

Their IB results are very good - not sure how selective they are, or if they "sift out" pupils who aren't going to pass (bearing in mind that the IB is not for everyone).

Many thanks. We have no reason to go for an International school. However, its down the road from us. My DD is a very anxious and sweet girl. The head at her current school thinks she will do better in a smaller school environment for secondary and she suggested Marymount, Sutton and Notre Dame. We still need to see Sutton, saw Notre Dame but its a bit further and seen a few posts on bullying that put me off, although i know that can't be stopped anywhere. DD loves Marymount and has been to other High schools, but naturally preferred the smaller set up. She is a hard worker and does quite well at school. Not top of her class, but in the middle. Thanks for the advice.

My only caution would be that I believe Marymount has a rather transient population. So your daughter may find she has just made friends, only for them to leave, usually to go back to the USA or elsewhere. Perhaps ask the school about their turnover.
