Secondary schools/Sixth form Bournemouth and Poole

Hi
We have the opportunity of moving to Bournemouth/Poole area this year. Have DD currently in Yr 9 and very sporty DS currently in Yr 11.
Would plan to go to start Yr 10 and 6th form in September 2015. Any experience or advice on schools would be greatly appreciated as it is all so daunting.
Has anyone else got experience of moving their DCs at this point in their education?
Thanks

Hi - we are also thinking of Bournemouth or Poole for a move away from London with a 6 and 7 year-old boys. We too are interested to hear about school options - specifically whether you can move 'in year'. I know both have grammar schools and apparently the schools in Lilliput/Westbourne areas at primary are oversubscribed. When I called the council they said you had to apply by 6th June (already gone) for Sep 2015 start - unless you apply for an 'in-year' transfer. Anyone else have any ideas?

We are further out but there is Poole Grammar school and Parkstone Grammar which are single sex. Are you just wansting Poole and Bournemoouth or are you willing to look at outlting areas such as Lytchett Minster and Wimborne, both have good schools, not sure of sporting side.
