DS going for interviews/assments this month at both the above. Aptitude Tests / assessments themselves not a problem - he's fine on all of these, but not sure what he should expect in terms of the interviews? Anyone got any insight they can share?

DS is a sociable sports-mad and very bright all-rounder, so in theory ought to have enought to talk about, but he is firmly of the view that talking about himself and what he does is 'showing off' so I'm not sure he will sell himself very well, especially if they floor him with something unexpected.

Thx in advance...

And of course there was John Le Carré, who taught at Eton.

And more recently, Sir Francis Richards, KCMG, CVO, DL (born 1945) was a director of Britain's spy centre, GCHQ.

Eton most certainly has its fair share of spies - not only coming from boys who attended the school but masters who taught there too. Besides John le Carré, apparently the so-called ‘Fifth Man’ was a tutor at Eton. George Orwell’s tutor no less!

My DS had a very normal and untaxing interview, what does he like best at school and why, what he is reading, what instrument he plays, what he does out of school (i.e. Theatre, hobbies etc), what he would like to do at Eton - just a nice chat....we prepared him by practising the obvious interview questions (as above) and what was in the news (although didnt get asked). We told him to smile and look happy and to keep eye contact. A friend had a similarly un taxing interview but another boy got asked who his favourite composer was and which other schools he'd applied to....good luck!

I have the similar questions and have tried to find some information on the stage 2 assessment. Have your DS gone through the day! Best Luck!
