Friends sent their shall we say eccentric DS to Bedales it was a disaster, and they removed him, they were exceedingly unimpressed with the way the school behaved, they thought pastoral care was dreadful. Apparently lots of mega wealthy trendy parents.
Other friends have a DS at Bryanston (forget the liberal slightly hippy reputation the head's got rid of this) veterans of other boarding school for their other DC's they're generally pleased with it, but it is a weekly boarding school.
I know little about Shrewsbury but I do know that the head who's exceedingly capable and pleasant is also ultimately a bit of a stuffed shirt friends who knew him when at Abbingdon agree that this ethos prevailed through the school when he was there.

So there is no option to board full time at Bryanston? At Bedales do you think there is any chance to secure reasonable GSCE's and A Levels? Yes I have heard Mr Turner is a bit of a stuffed shirt and they are also making it fully co-ed this September.

The friends DS said there are weekends when it's compulsory to be in but on all other weekends the place is virtually empty. Nit done where to send your DS if you want full boarding every weekend.
Bedales is also definitely not full boarding either can't foment on the results thing I'm sure if your DC is bright happy motivated and hard working they can do well there.
