Relocating with work, obviously our choice of which school the dds go to is determined by spaces but what are your recommendations and avoids and your reasons why? Same with 6th forms/colleges.

We are planning to live in north Preston.

Oh and state school!

Thanks people Smile

Eek so much to consider! Actually I think in hindsight it was Hutton Grammer she liked, wonder if they have a girls rugby team...

No, they don't have a girls rugby team but the MFL teacher (female) plays rugby.
I can find out who she plays for and let you know.

RandomMess · 27/05/2014 20:15

That would be good, I have tried google to find teams etc. but it's a bit confusing, I think dd plays sevens???? I just turn up and watch occasionally and accompany her to A&E with the latest injury every now and then...

OP sorry to derail

DeWee & Calzone - I wore that uniform , even unto the bowler hats (ages self immediately)

OP plenty of girls bussed in from Preston to QMSL (I think now KES) but it it is independent so not in your State School category.

Good luck with your decisions

Ooh agnes! You must be old then! GrinGrin

No bowler hats for me! Smile Phew!

Large brown knickers though.

I am 43.

DeWee · 01/06/2014 08:48

Didn't the knickers have pockets in them too-or was that just a joke? Calzone were you at the school when it went on strike the first red nose day? I remember the photos all over the paper, and the headmistress saying somewhat bewildered that she hadn't thought her girls would want to join in such things.

It's now called ArnoldKEQMS, known as AQS for short, as it mixed with King Teds and Arnold from Blackpool.

You'd be hard pushed to find a better school than BBEC also known as Broughton High!
