any advice for Secondary school visits?

Hi all - about to do our first school visit this weekend- I have an article from the guardian that was linked to in another thread, but any other advice?

What I wish I had done.

Don't just visit on open day. Travel to and from the school during the school run, to find out how long it really takes and what behaviour is like on the bus. This is a better indicator of how well run the school is than the head's speech.
