I'm hoping some of you can help. I just wanted to know the normal span of dates for the Summer GCSE exams if at all possible! I'm hoping to work out when they will all be done and dealt for DS1 in 2 years time Blush
I know it will depend which subjects / exam boards, but just wanted a guideline if possible.

DDs last exam was on the 19th June. I think the 'official ' last date was about 26th June.

Last official date here was 24th June (further maths), they're off now until September lucky blighters.

I agree, think the last date is 26th June for this year at my cousins school. So first week of July should be a good bet.

Worth bearing in mind that some schools have Leavers Assembly/last day etc, my cousin's was straight after the last exam (so a few weeks ago) but mine was the last day of the school term. There may also be "returning textbooks" day which my cousin also had, this is a specific morning/day where staff count all your DCs books back in etc. usually soon after exams too.

That's great, thank you all for your input Smile All advice is very welcome. I remember being very happy that mine finished relatively early many years ago! Lucky subject choices!!

Don't forget the Prom too.

The provisional timetables for next summer are on the Exam Board websites, so you can get the exact dates if you know the papers.

My DD's school finished towards the end of June. But they still had to be there for Prize Day, two weeks later (not sure what the sanction would be if you didn't attend this).

Some schools seem to let their GCSE students have a week off, then require them to go back to do a couple of weeks of teaching in their A Level choices. DD's school doesn't do this.

Remember that exam period in the Summer will lengthen thanks to the abolition of modules. There are a hell of a lot of exams to fit in now!

Last year ds's last exam was on the 27th June. Prom comes after that though (if you were thinking of booking a holiday or something).
