Just wondered how the new system works. It says that results are released in October. What do these results tell you if the allocation day isn't until 1st March? Might you not need to apply to say and Indy school from the info you have at this stage? Any help gratefully received. Just looking ahead! TIA

DD1 sat for the Herts Consortium with the intention of trying for a place at WGSG.
The exam was 2 weeks into September and we got her marks in October.
The historical marks are available online and so you can see whether your child would have got into the school in previous years.
The marks for a place seem to change less than 5 marks every year, so supposedly you should have an idea whether your DD will get offered a place or not, but tbh because it's the first year, AND the cross-sibling rule is back in place, who knows....
Sorry, can't help with HB. We decided it was too far for DD to even try for a place and have no regrets.

Thanks for that - v helpful.

For HBS this year the information released in October simply told you whether your daughter was in Band A: top 300 or Band B: the rest of the 1700+ applicants. Not really much help.

Thank you. V useful. If in Band A does that mean more testing??

No. On allocation day they'll simply offer 93 places going down the list of those of the top 300 who also placed HBS first in their lists.

I think.
