Preparing for Harrow School Scholarship Exam

My son is planning to answer the Harrow School Scholarship Exam in Feb 2013. Does anyone have any advise on the study material available for this exam or if you know of any decent place where they coach boys for this exam. Subjects required are - Maths, English, Science, Latin & French.
I live in Watford.

What's your prep school doing? They should know what the requirements are and also have old papers.
My friends son who sat it when my son sat the normal entrance exam for Winchester was told by someone generally considered a bit of an oracle on these sort of exams that the Harrow scholarship papers were very similar to the non scholarship Winchester entrance exam apart from the French when the boy sitting the Harrow paper had to know/have read a watered down version of the Three Muskateers in French and the Winchester Latin was a little harder in one part but otherwise there was little difference. Why dont you ask Harrow for copies of past papers if your school doesn't have any?
I also know you don't have to get straight As to get it but your DS does have to be very hard working the two we know who got it were not only pretty able but exceedingly industrious as well.

The school website says that recent past papers are available from the Admissions Secretary so I would start there.

I would also look at the Common Entrance Syllabus as it will give you an idea of the areas that most Prep school pupils will have covered and the level they are working at.

The textbooks, past papers and revision guides for Common Entrance come from Galore Park - you can also get copies of the Common Academic Scholarship Papers (iseb common entrance scholarship)

Harrow like mnauy others may write their own scholarship paper which if they do is likely to be harder than the Common Academic Scholarship Papers.
You need to speak to Harrow.

Agreed its likely to be harder than the CASE but it would give an idea and I assume they would be based off broadly the same syllabus i.e. if he can't do the CASE level work he is probably going to struggle with the Harrow paper. Also Harrow ask for a more modest % on the CE so I wouldn't expect their scholarship papers to be as difficult as some schools such as the one your son is at Wink.
