DS starts Yr7 - just like starting school again - appears to be a whole new ball game !

right have got uniform - just saw the thread about labelling uniform still so have got the sewing to do.

Now need a school bag - suitable for DS who will either walk or cycle to school.

And what calculator - best for yr 7 - I assume they dont need a scientific one yet .

Thank you. Smile

Yes to scientific calculator, mine had them from year 7.

Popular bag at DCs school is addidas messenger bag, but they are quite small so may need a seperate PE bag.

Oh and French/ English dictionary is helpful.

An eastpak rucksack? I would definitely recommend a scientific calculator - they're only about £5 and DS has had his since Y7 (now going into sixth form).

Thanks.

just looked on Amazon - scientific calculators are reasonably priced at around £5

I think DS would prefer a messenger bag so will take a look.

The school often advise on a calculator so maybe wait and see if they recommend a particular one. There is nothing more irritating than trying to teach 30 kids a complex calculation when all their buttons are in different places IYSWIM .... in any case, the Casio FX 85 GT Plus Scientific seems to be the current one .....
