Enterprise Competitions - Do other schools let them keep the profits?

DS's school runs a House Enterprise competition, like Young Enterprise but just an in school thing. They are allowed to distribute any profits amongst the group at the end (win or lose).

This has been such a motivation for DS and friends who cleared £1k proft (running an events company ie Disco's) very quickly and would have been more but changes at the school meant they have to hold off more events until next year. DS and 1 other boy did the Lions share of the work and so got a few hundred punds each, which they have used to purchase more equipment so they do not have to hire it in future. DS also won a grant for an Enterprise purchase which he used for this.

He has learned so much as well. He has had to negotiate with different schools, advertise, arrange hire, delivery etc. Complete H&S forms and Risk assessments, write Thank you notes to helper staff and schools, and arrange distribution of profits. He also has bookings, and the start of a good sideline. :)

Do other schools do this?

Yep. It's pretty common.
