Does anyone know whether any DC who aren't at one of the 4 feeder primary schools were offered a place for September? My DS will be transferring to secondary in Sept 2013 and whilst we live very close to Bolingbroke, he isn't at one of the feeder schools. Was wondering what his chances of a place will be?

Sorry can't help as we've gone for a selective in Sutton but the very best of luck.

It is totally unfair that the school is only truly available to an affluent cohort who live on doorstep. The Michaela Free School was looking like a good alternative but sadly all has gone very quiet since they had to drop plans to open for this September! Wonder whether that might be an option for you too?

Thanks gazzalw. Given that 2 of the feeders are 3 forms per year I would imagine that the places will fill up from them and the 3 other schools. Was just wondering if that was the case this year. May try calling the school and see if they can tell me. Best of luck to your DC.

wow that's already a lot of very local children chasing those places....you might strike lucky in the first year or so.... would have thought a few parents might be quite circumspect about sending their children to a totally untested school, but maybe I am underestimating the very local demand for such a school.

Good luck with your secondary school applications. So glad that we now have the stress behind us until DD gets to that age/stage!
