I am slightly late returning the offer form for my daughter. She loved the school and the girls are quite charming. But, boarding is a big step for our daughter and I am hesitating. Does anyone have any advice/comments? I am almost certain we will accept, as I have heard so many positive things and daughter loved the sleepover.

Was this Luckley Oakfield? or Leighton Park? (A MNer on here has a DD very happy at Leighton Park)

If she loved it, she'll probably be fine.

Btw, school looks incredible from the website

Oops - so sorry Blush - I misread OP as Wokingham School......

Yes, website does look impressive. But, I need to get a good feeling from the staff and the Director of Pastoral Care is very friendly and has years of experience. I feel okay trusting my daughter to her care. I guess you're right... :)

My dd had a friend who started at another girl's boarding school - really hated it for the first term (cried every night on phone to her mum) but now seems to be settling in. She does weekly boarding ... can you do this at Woldingham?

ChiswickLu · 09/03/2011 09:14

Not exactly weekly boarding. They have activities Saturday morning, so will see her at lunchtime Saturday. Don't have to take her back until Monday morning. Also told me that exceptionally she could come out on a Friday for a family event etc. They only have a few closed weekends, so I will be seeing a lot of dd!

I boarded there, and was very unhappy and left after three years, but it was a long time ago and I'm sure things have changed. The pastoral care was not good, and I was definitely too young to board at just eleven. Ended up boarding at another school in the sixth form, which was a much better age to board.

I have a daughter at Woldingham. She loves it there! Most
of her friends board and they all love it.
My other daughter will be joining next year and can't wait.
