Anybody nervous about tomorrow?

I really shouldn't be as it is more than likely dd1 will get a place at our local school - (in fact if she doesn't then we're stuffed as there isn't another school that she can get to)

Just wanted to pass on my (slight nerves) best wishes to all those people who I know are in a much worse position than us. Smile

Yes, its been a long time coming! I don't want DD to go to our local school, and have put an oversubscribed school as first choice. She stands a good chance of getting in under the criteria, but it bothers me that she is in the "millennium baby boom" year, as demonstrated at her primary school, so it may be harder than usual!

mary21 · 28/02/2011 10:48

yes. Ds is too. Our choice 1 is unlikely but great if we get it. Number 2 great. historically no problem getting a place there from where we live but the catchment shrinks every year. Last choice a school in special measures. just become an academy. could be great but to early to tell.

Tobytyke · 28/02/2011 10:52

Our LEA don't let us know our offer until April 11th . My first choice is a small village school but they only take 16 children. It is actually the nearest to our home even though our propery is 10m from the village border. I do hope we get a place.

MyDearGirl · 28/02/2011 10:58

I will be just glad the wait is over. Our 1st choice is also oversubscribed and we're out of the catchment, second is similar and the third is just ok!!! It was worth a try but I think we'll be getting the 3rd choice.

curlymama · 28/02/2011 11:38

Hell yes!!

Although we are unlikely to find out tomorrow as it's done by post, so the offers are sent out tomorrow, hopefully early so it will arrive Wednesday.

I know by Wednesday lunchtime I am likely to be walking up and down the street waiting to pouce on Mr Postman.

curlymama · 28/02/2011 11:39

Or pounce, even. Might be more effective that way Blush Smile

Mrsfluff · 28/02/2011 11:41

We've had a letter arrive today!?! I'm waiting for DD to get before opening it though, which is proving very hard for me!

MaryBS · 28/02/2011 11:41

I THINK, that as we applied online, we'll receive an email notification...

curlymama · 28/02/2011 11:44

Mrsfluff, that is ver restrained of you! You have my admiration!

DS has an after school club on Wednesday and there is no chance I'll be able to wait!

MaryBS · 28/02/2011 11:49

Yes, procedures say we'll receive an email tomorrow PM.

MrsFluff, that is VERY restrained, can't you steam it open and then tell us? :o

Lucycat · 28/02/2011 13:59

I've just had to take the dd's for lunch at the Trafford centre (Inset day for us both, but as I'm 0.5 I decided not to go in today, it looked v dull Grin)) to take my mind off tomorrow.

We also get an email but as I'm in work I'll have to check there. - gulp.

I have to check online from work after 5pm tomorrow - I've never been this nervous in my life!!

roisin · 28/02/2011 16:39

Good luck everyone!

I was nervous last year even though ds2 had a pretty cast-iron guarantee to get in as a sibling. Grin

MaryBS · 28/02/2011 17:57

Is DD in yet, mrsfluff?

atthecarwash · 28/02/2011 18:43

Very stressed about it all!!

We live in the catchment area of our first choice school, but there's no guarantee DS will get in as it's heavily oversubscribed. We wouldn't have got in last year so I'm not too hopeful....

Chance of getting into our 2nd choice is 1 in 10 and I really don't want our 3rd choice....but there was no other choice!!

MaryBS · 01/03/2011 08:48

YAY! DD got into our first choice school! :o

roisin · 01/03/2011 17:02
