I am currently looking at secondary schools for my DD who is in year 5. I went to the open day last year and was impressed with the facilities and also the girls who showed us around. Does anyone have any opinions or experience of this school?

Was talking to a local to Epsom mum who said you'd probably have good grounds for appeal IF it's girls only secondary education your DD wants and you can argue the case (as there are no other nearby girls comps).

Good luck!

Hmmm, I am not sure how your daughters desire for a girls only education is grounds for appeal for an over subscribed school but maybe ask them.

The CAF form is just a list of preferences. The council will apply the admission criteria to your application for all schools on your list and if you get more than one, they offer you the one highest up your list. So really you still need to put schools you are most likely to fulfill the admission criteria for on your list. But there is nothing stopping you from being added to the waiting list. You'll be amazed how much things change from March to September. In fact I would ask the council where the furthest address was on 1st September rather than just offer day. Good luck.

Whilst wanting a single sex education can be mentioned in an appeal, to be successful you would need significantly more than that I’m afraid. It’s not a very strong argument for why the child would be disadvantaged by not attending this specific school.

( I sit on appeals panels for Surrey!)
