Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Gordons School in Woking both as a senior school but also as a 6th form.

Ds1 will be going into yr 12 next September. His current school has only just started up a 6th form this year, where the pupils have to go to another school for a majority of subjects. I'm not sure how ideal that is. We need to look at all options for him to be able to get good A'level results and have the opportunity to go to university if he so wishes.

Any thoughts ideas most welcome.

Gordons is an excellent school but it is extremely difficult to get in. I think you have to be invited to join the 6th form there. Take a look att heir website - I'm sure I saw something about it on there.

Second that Gordons is an excellent school. I have two very good friends who teach there too....

I live in Bisley, which is just down the road from Gordons. It's certainly the best school in the area, to the point where only people who live within 5m of the school gate have any chance of getting in on catchment area, and apparently it's oversubscribed by 800% every year. Of all the people in the area, I know only one family who managed to get their children in, and that was because of SN.

Good luck!

I think you have more chance of getting in if you have a military background. I know of someone being offered a day place from Guildford (she wanted a boarding one) but the father was in the military.

And by 5m, I mean 5 metres, not 5 miles! Sorry, it's my metric upbringing!

Many thanks everyone.
I think I might need to ring them about their 6th form intake.
Annie don't worry I understood the 5m!
