Having major issues with my landlord, no hot water or heating for weeks now. Its not an actual landlord, its rented through a company and they say they only have one maintenance contractor to sort multiple issues in my block. Have phoned, emailed and went to the offices in person and am getting nowhere. Paying over 1k a month rent for this as well.
Has anyone got any advice? The flat in in Edinburgh. Ive heard on rhe grapevine the block of flats may be condemned....unsure the meaning of this??

Any advice very appreciated.

Does the company you rent it from own tte block, or just manage it for the actual landlord?
There is a landlord registered to check.
If the company is the landlord and failing to act in repairs, you can report them to the council who manage the landlord register.

So the "landlord" seems to be a residential property company registered overseas. They seem to employ another company to oversee maintenance of the building. This other company are very evasive and difficult to communicate with. They seem to have put out to tender the maintenance on a lot of flats in the building. And they are waiting on getting the best price. They will not say how long they are waiting. And no one is answering me.

Meanwhile my flat is freezing and no hot water.

I've read the above link about Repair Standards. TBH its all very vague and frankly legal speak over pages and pages that confuses me further. There is no time given that its acceptable you have no heat and things must be fixed.

I'll contact shelter tomorrow but I feel despairing right now. No one wants to help and the "landlord" company is registered overseas.
