Planning to relocated with my 6 year old from Southwest to Inverness area, looking for recommendations for good primary schools preferably small village schools.

I would look at secondary schools and work backwards tbh, although appreciate a lot can change in 6 years. Some of them are.. not great. The tables for secondaries are online.

One thing to remember with small village schools is that kids can end up being on a bus or minibus for more than an hour to get to secondary.

You’ll also want to consider how far away you want to be from Inverness and what your budget is, do you have any thoughts?

I am looking at either around Nairn area or possibly Black Isle, rural property on outskirts of village. I know the secondary options are limited, seems to be Fortrose Academy or Nairn Academy. Any recommendations on the best and then can work out catchments.
