Best public transport route from George Street to Argyle Street in Glasgow

Help please.

I need to got to Argyle Street from George Street early at around 7:30ish, and was recommended walking to Buchanan Street to get the underground train there.

Google shows the bus as being a quicker option as it's closer to where we are staying. That seems to me like a preferable option as we will have light luggage, but is it reliable at time of the day?

If you are able you could probably walk it in 10/15 minutes. Depending on where you are staying

We are staying in the city centre on West George Street.

I think the bus will involve less walking either end if that’s important to you.

Oh you couldn't walk that ! I would get the bus as far as i know they are pretty regular, my sil uses the city centre buses for work.

We did pretty much this exact journey a few times on our most recent visit to Glasgow. I found walking to and from the nearest underground stations to be a lot more reliable and hassle-free than the times we attempted it by bus. One of the times we attempted bus to save on walking I got so frustrated I paid for a taxi instead.

Your best bet is to get the 3 bus from West Regent St but yes you could get the subway from Buchanan.

i’d use the subway too. it’s an experience i love.
i’d go buchanan street to kelvin hall.

id not go from st enoch. grubby end of town.

its a good day out.
if you finish early, its a 10-15 min walk from there to the transport museum with the tall ship.

you could walk over the bridge and look at the old church in govan to see carved standing stones but with luggage youll have prob had enough without that!

theres also a powerboat ride around £20 ish, kids cheaper, each just outside the transport museum. that is fun but not too fast. you sit astride in two rows on the rib style boat. they lock up your stuff while you're out on the boat.

I always get the underground when going to kelvingrove. Go from Buchanan st to Kelvinhall.
