Nazi salute in Glasgow

From reading the bbc article, it sounds as though the individual performing the Nazi salute was not arrested? I’m disgusted! How do Police Scotland really think all this unrest will end if they don’t arrest people for blatant hate crimes?

Yes we do really live in a warped country.

Can do a nazi salute right in front of police but cannot say against an ongoing genocide.

I'f you're talking about what's going on in Gaza, where have you been? People have been "saying against" it very loudly on the street for almost three years.

And being arrested for it.

Really? Every single person who has said a anything about what's foing on in Gaza has been arrested?

And being arrested for it.

People only get arrested for very specific things not just for protesting against the war in Gaza.

Only since May 2026 has Keir Starmer called for police to prosecute people chanting "globalise the intifada" during demonstrations, calling it an example of "extreme racism". That is not a peaceful chant.

No. Arrested for saying Palestine and a word starting with a. I don't even know if I can write it .

Palestine Action? You can say it but preferably don't join it, 2026Mummy.

Also don't chant globalise the Intifada as no one wants any more uprisings in the UK do they? (plus you can now get prosecuted for it)

I don't think you can.

FFS don't be such a martyr. There are threads with Palestine Action in the title. The police aren't going to show up at your door if you type the word action on an anonymous forum.

Twiglets1 · 14/06/2026 16:51

@2026Mummy as already mentioned - in May 2026 the actual prime minister called for police to prosecute people chanting "globalise the intifada" during demonstrations.

Plus earlier guidelines from the Met police say:

Chants talking about an intifada could be an offence if the context leads the officer to believe it is calling for a violent uprising.

If an officer has reasonable suspicion the phrase intifada is being used to refer to a violent uprising then the officer may consider whether the language is threatening and whether any person is, or is likely to be, caused harassment or distress

they’re not agreeing with you that simply saying the name Palestine action gets you arrested though which you were saying. Just that support for it, which is illegal.

I despair. It’s all so depressing.

I immigrated here 20 years ago from the states and am raising 2 Jewish children in Scotland. I felt so safe for so long but now I think I was just being naive.

That's depressing as hell I hope the majority of Scots are decent to you and the kids.
Ordinary Jewish people are not responsible for that nut Netnyahu.

Exactly… just saying Palestine Action is ok.

Unless I’m about to be arrested 😂

Don’t think you were being naive. But the circles you move in will have been full of decent people hence you feeling safe because you were safe.

MintBird · 16/06/2026 17:02

It isn't illegal to do a Nazi salute and if it were we'd have the usual people complaining about their "free speech" being infringed.

Let them but don't censor their faces.

2026Mummy · 16/06/2026 21:00

I saw a video of one person talking about an 'invasion' and quoting the bible.

I did think someone should tell him where Jesus was born.
