Thank God somebody's got the nads to hold them to account for the very basics they should be doing. At last.

The way they take the absolute piss out of the Scottish public has been a sight to see. Yet they get away with it time and time again.

Hopefully this will let them know they don't actually run a dictatorship and there is actually some accountability.

Well I’m just glad someone is doing it.

I wish there was one for education.

He's stuck his neck out before and seems to be unafraid at challenging avoidance of FOI by organisations -

Shouldn't the proceedings be against the SNP rather than the government (which I know is the SNP)? I'm asking in ignorance.

You’d have thought. Then they could fund their own lawyers to defend their corruption. But no,the taxpayer is plinking up the tab for the SNPs deception. Nice

Can’t wait!

So few people are prepared to put their professional duties and ethics before personal advantage / fear of consequences. That's why our country's in the mess it is (and the same for the United States, of course). So huge credit goes to him. The Scottish Government constantly just ignore law they don't like. The Supreme Court judgement in For Women Scotland v the Scottish Government being an excellent example of that.

TheAutumnCrow · 24/01/2026 22:40

All credit to Mr Hamilton.

I see he’s got 3.9 years left to clean out the stables.

About the Scottish Information Commissioner:
David Hamilton took up post as Scottish Information Commissioner in October 2023, for a fixed term of six years.

The SNP as an organisation is separate to the government. The SNP (the political party) does not hold this information.

The Scottish government are an absolute disgrace. What happened to the promises of a fair transparent government during indyref? So much cronyism and corruption too. They were supposed to be better than Labour but have turned out far worse. Not a straight backbone among them.
