(I'm hoping someone else might know as it doesn't say on the council website)

My eldest will be three on 20th August 2026. The funding is changing to start of terms rather than say after their birthday. Does anyone know if he will be able to start in August 2026, or January 2027?

TIA!

He will be a January start, as he's not 3 before the start of the August term.

Some authorities have arranged it so that those born before the end of August get to start close to their birthday. That's certainly the case in neighbouring authorities with the same 'term after' rules. Worth checking with the council directly!

Sorry, I just checked online and EDC don't have that rule. He would need to be 3 before 31 July to be eligible for an August start.
