Best independent Edinburgh cafes

Looking for tips, want a nice independent cafe with really good quality home baking, central Edinburgh, to treat a friend visiting for a few days. Must do gift vouchers.

Along similar lines to Cottonrake Bakery and Cafe in Glasgow.

Thanks in advance!

I'm struggling to think of central independent cafes as they tend to be more located in the suburbs.
Loudons have a couple of cafes around the city and I think the cake offerings are ok Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch & More | Loudons Edinburgh
Mimis are also a locally based bakery Mimi's Bakehouse

Loudons | Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch in Edinburgh

Loudons serves up brilliant food for all appetites, without exceptions. We are known as one of the best places in Edinburgh for breakfast, brunch & lunch.

I'd say Krema in Leith Walk is a great independent but they mostly do take out there, only some tables outside.

Wee Bonnie's in St. Mary's Street. Turkish, lovely.

Cafe Marmalade in Leith is excellent. Cakes are all homemade and the caramel shortbread is spectacular.

I like Krem Karamel near the Botanic gardens, but not sure if they do vouchers.

Also Cloudberry in Barnton - has a nice shop too with lovely gifts.

Tasty Buns in Bread St but no idea if they do vouchers
