My DC was initially keen to go to Dundee. Recent news stories re their financial situation are very much putting them off now! We loved it when we visited and i don't want them to avoid it unnecessarily. But of course I want them to have a great uni experience if possible! Would Dundee be a bad move atm?

Interesting to see this thread today. DD only just starting Highers, but our dentist mentioned yesterday that we should look at Dundee as DD looking at design courses and I've just been checking out the website. I like that there's a general art and design year before specialising and then overlap between courses later on.

Not at all surprised that many universities are looking at cuts. I worked at a uni until 2017 and there were VS rounds at least twice in the 12 years I worked there. It was how I got part-time agreed after DD was born. Always triggered by low numbers of international students and we've hardly got more welcoming in that area since then.

My DD is just about to go onto second year at DJCAD, she is loving it. First year she did a foundation art course and then specialised for second year. She lived in a lovely flat last year on campus, now she’s renting in the city.

My son is just going into third year. It’s an amazing art school, and Dundee is a great place to be a student. I wouldn’t discount it based on the general problems of the university.
