Looking for a Hairdresser in Edinburgh/East Lothian

The same person has cut and coloured my hair for ages but after a series of less than happy experiences I’m looking for recommendations. I don’t really enjoy getting my hair cut so I’m looking for somewhere quite relaxed. I’m not looking for anything super cool or fashionable. I’ve got long hair that’s greying and I’m looking for a reliable colourist and decent shaping and cutting. Ideally in the Edinburgh/East Lothian area.

I’d love some recommendations.

I would strongly recommend Lisa Allen at Wilson Allen in Stockbridge. I asked a similar question on here a few years ago for similar reasons and Lisa was one of the recommendations. Have always been delighted with cut and colour.

Highly recommend Hot head for people who don't like hair salons. Very laid back vibe with seriously talented stylists/colourists.

I spent 3 years trying to find a great hairdresser and eventually was recommended Bryony Quate in Bruntsfield. They’re super-friendly and professional and I’ve gone to them for over 5 years now.

I highly recommend Claire Thomson at Angus Gordon Hairdressing in Musselburgh.

Finally reporting back after overcoming my nerves and making an appointment. Claire Thomson at Angus Gordon was absolutely brilliant @indigopotion , just the kind of person I was looking for. There was a lovely laid back atmosphere in the salon as well. Claire was very intrigued as to how she had been recommended…I had to explain that I didn’t actually know who had recommended her! I'm looking for someone really good with short hair in the town itself. I've had so many really bad overpriced haircuts!
