Catholic secondaries in Edinburgh/East Ren?

Does anyone have any current/recent experiences of either St Thomas of Aquin's in Edinburgh or St Ninian's in East Renfrewshire? We are looking at a house in catchment for St Thomas's and have a lot more local connections in Edinburgh, but DH and I both mainly WFH so we could potentially move to ER if there's a huge difference in the
Catholic high school provision. Interested in what the school communities are like, how good they are at stretching the abler students, general pastoral care, extracurricular provision, how much emphasis they lay on the Catholic ethos - any useful thoughts or experiences really. On paper St Ninian's gets much better academic results, but I'm aware this may just be because the huge percentage who go to private schools skew results a bit in Edinburgh.

Our experience of St N in ER is that the most able are well stretched…. Expectation is 5 Highers in S5. Definitely need paperwork to prove catchment address etc

DogsAndKidsAndSport, thank you that's helpful. Do you have any other thoughts or experiences - positive or negative - about St N's you'd be willing to share? I'm interested in pretty much any thoughts, see my OP! Would really appreciate it if so. We would be basically be making the move from east to west coast only for the school if we did move, so quite a big decision.
