What to do in Glasgow City Centre?

I've lived just outside of Glasgow for over a year now but still don't know too much of what there is to do. Obviously there's shopping and restaurants, but I mean aside from that. I love going to the Kelvingrove and GOMA but there's only so many times I can do that! I do sometimes go to the cinema too but I was wondering if there were other things people do that they can recommend?Smile

Try the Hunterian - there is a museum and separate art gallery very close to Byres Road, about ten mins walk from Kelvingrove

I live on the edge of Glasgow and those are only reasons I go into town... specialist shopping and food.
The occasional thing at the Concert Hall maybe, after that everything else I can do somewhere else.

Work doesn't count😁

There's a mural trail that takes you round some of the street art in the city centre.

The Hunterian Anatomy Museum has an adrenal gland from Queen Charlotte's elephant and other cool things.

The Ottoman Coffee House is great for a chilled afternoon reading, chatting, playing board games, etc.

The mural trail is good fun too.

What kinds of things interest you?

Visit the panopticon

www.britanniapanopticon.org/

It's the world's oldest surviving music hall and is so interesting!

Science centre, transport museum, art lover's house are three I can think of without thinking.

Not the centre but the Burrell collection is lovely.

The Glasgow necropolis?

Oh also the Glasgow central tour! You get to go underneath the streets where here are passageways I think? It's meant to be really good but one of those things I've yet to do despite living just outside Glasgow my whole life.

It's really cool, I did it with some people from work and we had so much fun.

My partner used to go on about doing it but as usual life has got in the way. Will maybe book it as a surprise for his birthday, it's the kind of thing he'd like to do 😊

The City Chambers building on George Square does a free tour, twice a day (10.30 and 2.30 Monday to Friday), just turn up 30 minutes before and its first come first served. We found it really interesting to see inside such a prominent building.
