We live in Scotland, but DD is thinking about applying to a couple of English universities. How does finding work for this? Obviously there is the £9k a year tuition fee, but can she get a loan for this, or would we have to pay ourselves up front? Would ahe be eligible for a loan covering living costs from SAAS?

Yes you still apply to SAAS regardless of where you're studying.
One of DD's friends currently at an English uni and she has her living costs loan plus her £9250 tuition fee loan from SAAS

Thank you. So a Scottish student can take a loan to pay the tuition—that’s useful to know.

Yes. My son got his English uni tuition fee loan through SAAS as well as his maintenance loan. The SAAS interest rate for the loan is lower than that of the English equivalent.
