Do you think the riots will come here?

Wondering if Scots anticipate riots coming here too? I know there was a rumour of something in Glasgow tomorrow, some right wing rally, don’t know if true. But I’ve been assuming it’s unlikely to take hold here because it’s so English - not all the politics for sure, but the deep vein of English nationalism in it wouldn’t go too well up here. What do others think? Also, it’s annoying me the media is reporting it constantly as UK wide when it’s not been up here yet at all afaik.

OP- it can happen here as they can come here. It happened after the no vote - people had travelled up to Glasgow and there were lots being horriblly racist in GS and doing Nazi salutes . I unfortunately was in the city centre that day and it was terrifying.

I saw the EDL ( re branded to a different name - Pro UK) are trying to organise tomorrow or 7th September in GS.

I despise everything these people stand for . I work with refugees who arrive by boat. They are already traumatized and people who terrorise them here , well, are evil.

Also, yes , it is annoying seeing 'Britain' used but Ch 4 have corrected it.

Because they’re not white does not mean they are not British.

Latest census on ONS is in fact telling me that 72% of the population of Birmingham was born in England. So, whilst they may not be white, and identify as an ethnic minority, they are English or British. So, absolutely every right to be there.

Not necessarily. You only get British citizenship at birth if at least one of your parents is a British Citizen. You do not get automatic right to stay just because you are born in the UK.
