Council parking ticket in Glasgow

Is there an email address where this can be appealed? My brother parked one street outside his parking permit zone, not realising that street wasn’t also covered in the zone.
Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Isn't that in the ticket? Or on the DH council website ?

Caveat, I'm not an expert:

Remember not to pay it if you are appealing, as once paid you cannot appeal.

They are ruthless though.

I have a condition that causes brain fog and forgot to use my blue badge on the car (whose registration number they know as it was in my application form for a blue badge, so not sure why they ask for that info and then ignore it).

Still got a parking ticket as apparently that wasn't a valid excuse and it could have been someone else driving the car that day.

Honestly I'd just pay. Less hassle in the long run. They'll likely tell you the zone is clearly displayed, no excuse, blah blah blah.

No point appealing if he was in the wrong.

Thanks, it’s so annoying as he pays the annual fee for his permit and was literally one street outside the zone without realising.

I know you didn't ask for opinions, but it really isn't worth him appealing it. There is no chance they will write it off.

When I lived in Glasgow my wheel was just out my residents’ bay and got a penalty

Although it was unintentional it was entirely my fault so just paid up

FitAt50 · 28/07/2024 21:17

I would just pay it and he should mark it up as lesson learned. I live in Glasgow west end, and have a residents permit. My gym is one street out of my zone and I have to pay £4.30 to park each time I go. It sucks but it's the rules.

NoTouch · 29/07/2024 14:28

Sounds like it was a valid ticket? What would be the basis for his appeal?

Did they not provide information where his permit covered?. Are there signposts that were misleading?

Unless you can prove he could not have reasonably known he didn't have a permit for that street it is a fair ticket. They will not be interested in it was only one street out and annoying.

I got my first ever ticket in 22 years of driving last week. Was so cross with myself as it was a work trip so the parking would have been reimbursed. I simply forgot to get a ticket in a rush to get my train.

It's sad that there's no mechanism for working out what is genuine Fraud and a genuine mistake. But clearly they can never tell so you just have to cough up!
