Looking for a nice place to eat solo after an exhibition at the RSA on Friday, please?

What kind of food do you like?

The Outsider on George IV Bridge, Fishers on Thistle St? Wahaca if you like Mexican food? Kurdish place on Johnstone Terrace?

Something near it would be good as I’ve hurt my foot 🙈 I would quite like something fancy food wise

Really close is Gleneagles Townhouse in St Andrews Square?

It's been a few years since I was last there but the food at the Caledonian Hotel is some of the best I've ever had. I still dream about the berry soufflé they did at the time and I'm not a dessert person. I think the restaurant has changed since I was there but online reviews still seem to be brilliant.

It has changed.. and I’ve been! So somewhere else?

Taylor Swift is on so don't head West or attempt a tram with a sore foot!

If you just want something light, The Scottish Cafe is right underneath the gallery and the food is lovely. It is just a posh cafe though.

If you're pushing the boat out, try Cardinal. Under The Table also getting good reviews. Sushisamba in the W hotel for views and something different.

Oh, thanks @HelloMyNameIsElderSmurf , I’ll also avoid Nando’s 😂 Cardinal looks fabulous, will look at the others

If I was really, really spoiling myself I'd get the tram down to Askr in Leith...

There is also Contini on George Street which is owned / run by the same people that run the Scottish Cafe under the gallery.

Vittorias on George IV Bridge but possibly not as fancy as you want.
The Outsider
Angels with Bagpipes
Ondine
La Garrigue (Jeffrey Street so might be a bit too far to hobble)

Thanks so much everyone, I now need to go back a lot!
