Private kids’ Orthodontist Glasgow

Any recommendations, please?

My sister’s DD is 12 and has very overcrowded and crooked teeth. They have been waiting for months and months for NHS dentistry to do something I would like to help.

Any orthodontist will treat as a private patient.

Private costs a fortune, all four of mine have had NHS, they won’t start NHS until all baby teeth have fallen out.

We took DD1 to a place in Glasgow to have a bit of discolouration removed from her front tooth as the NHS wouldn’t do it as it was cosmetic and it was £300 I shudder to think what braces would cost.

Chase up the orthodontist referral it can take months but it’s more of a marathon not a sprint

Most orthodontists will charge £150 ish for a consultation. Then depending on type of brace , complexity etc it will cost £2000 to £4000 ish .

Be aware you can't jump the waiting list by having a private consultation and if the child's needs are complex and it needs a joint surgical and brace approach this will be prohibitively expensive and it's better to wait on list.

In many areas the waiting list for braces is 2 or more years , in some 4 years. The child will also have had to have lost all their baby teeth and their adult teeth will all have to be through before treatment starts.
