DC is sea creature daft,.where would you say is the best sea life centre or aquarium in Scotland or at a push, north England? Thought I could plan a trip around a visit.

I hear Deep Sea World is pretty bad these days and I remember being underwhelmed by Loch Lomond.

We've been to MacDuff aquarium, Loch Lomond and Deep Sea World. I'd say Deep Sea World at North Queensferry is the best, its certainly the biggest. My kids could do the tunnel for hours.

Outside those I liked the Deep in Hull but haven't been for a while.

Macduff Aquarium was always known as the haddock tank. It’s a nice day out if you’re relatively local or as a stop off on a bigger trip.

Deep sea world is still good for kids up to about 12. The tunnel still has the wow factor that I remember from when it opened in the 90s. DC like to go round and round. I didn't love the outdoor bit with sea lion show, other than the view of the bridges. There's enough to pass a couple of hours inside.

Ha, you’re going to end up seeing most of them! We loved the St Andrews one.

Maybe we'll do a road trip round them all!

I agree that St Andrews is great, I think the seals are away at the moment after their pool got damaged in a storm but they have meerkats, marmosets and penguins as well as a variety of reptiles/amphibians and all the sea life you'd expect

Mine grew up with regular visits to St Andrews and we loved it.
