GP is refusing to refer as says local assessment lists 'closed'.
Head of practice, changing practice very difficult (rural).

Ds is 19. Has an NHS ASD dx, & a Dyslexia dx. Needs assessed for ADHD before Uni. Who to approach if GP has shut NHS gate locally? Could wait until he goes to Uni but I think it needs done now, so meds / titration can be done in time?

Where are you? My DS has been trough the same very recently, he had 2 lengthy assessments at Purple House. He is not on medication for his ADHD but the diagnosis has opened doors at Uni for additional support, both software and in person counselling/tutorial support. Our GP said that they were prepared to act on a shared care basis with Purple House as the guy they use to do their ADHD assessments is a NHS consultant in the day job. Not cheap though.
