I don’t know why but even after everything I am actually still shocked by Sturgeon

It’s the holier than thou whilst all along she was just plain lying (and maybe thriving). She’s right up there with Boris on pure scummerry .

Even Boris only defeated a few What App messages. She's deleted every last one.

To be fair others have got away with losing their phones, forgetting their password / pin, saying they hadn't read the email etc. She has taken note.

The calibre of our politicians in the UK is abysmal at the moment and institutions are ineffective and powerless.

I really can't get worked up about this. They wouldn't have made any key decisions on WhatsApp. It would have been all, is everyone OK if we move the call from 1pm to 2pm and, you better have a look at what the daily record are saying now. No-one would be interested in the messages even if they were available.

You sure about it just being about meeting times? because this says different

And if it was just 'is the meeting 1pm or 1.15?' then what's the need to delete it
all?

I beg to differ.

I lost my dad to Covid in a care home in 2020, I’m very fucking interested

Me too - lost FIL and aunt both in care homes. I want her to pay.

GintyMcGinty · 19/01/2024 22:39

They were at it. Planned and deliberate.

Seriously? How do,you know what was likely to be in the messages?

lljkk · 19/01/2024 23:21

do you guys think she actually sent a whatsapp mesg that said "I'm going to lie and arse about and do nothing to protect people"

What smoking gun do you "know" was in the whatsapp comms?

JennyLake · 20/01/2024 06:40

She is a dodgy as they come. She’s deleted them because they are probably incriminating and embarrassing. Of course people would be interested in them.

Freysimo · 20/01/2024 06:58

It's not surprising she stepped down when she did. She knew what was coming.

I'm genuinely sorry for your loss.... I doubt sturgeon will be accountable as she and her cohorts are slippery lying bastards.

an example of the crooked shambles run on her watch.

Sturgeon deleted ALL WhatsApp messages
Electio7899 · 20/01/2024 08:55

Well this is the superior PR expertise you’d expect from NS isn’t it? Delete all, gets the benefit of the doubt, nothing to pick through. Plus you know, improves book sales…

the fact that the tories and their advisors didn’t have a pre bedtime ‘delete all’ routine shows their lack of communications expertise, it’s been to the inquiry’s benefit - all we’ll get from the Scotland part is whatever the SNP think the public want to hear now.

you can be sure that all politicians are now deleting their WhatsApps on a nightly basis…

Bargello · 20/01/2024 09:24

Of course it's shifty and of course it's dodgy. Although the faithful will take the line of the messages being minor things about moving a meeting time or similar, they don't KNOW that. WhatsApp is a really effective way of communicating to a group of people who are not all in the same building, as well as messaging one to one. The wee bit which has been leaked has shown that there is lots on there which is deeply incriminating.

Dissimilitude · 20/01/2024 09:28

I’m less shocked by the deletions and more shocked by the fact that serious government business is partially conducted on WhatsApp and they see no issue with that. Naive in the extreme.

My employer's policy is absolutely zero tolerance towards this, and I mean zero - no firm business on non firm platforms, ever, any circumstances, no exceptions. Instant disciplinary up to and including being fired if caught.

It’s draconian, but actually necessary given the regulatory environment. Government should be doing no less.

FizzingAda · 20/01/2024 09:38

As Craig Murray has said, if they really wanted them they should ask MI6. I'd really like to see them, plus all the ones in the Alex Salmond stitch up.
