Hi all, is anyone else in the same position, maybe we could help each other.
I stay in Midlothian and have an almost 2 year old daughter. But feel like most of my friends with kids have just disappeared and are always busy, need to schedule stuff months in advance 😂
I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so have just started trying a few clubs for my daughter on Mondays and Fridays as although she goes to nursery 1.5 days a week, I really want to socialise her more with kids her own age. Anyone up for play dates? Soft plays, walks etc?

I don't have a toddler or live in midlothian anymore, but I did live in Penicuik when my two were babies/toddlers and went along to toddler groups with them. It might be worth trying to find out if there any running on your free days?

We made good friends there, some were childminders as well.

The one we went to was in mauricewood primary but I cant remember which day as it was over 20 years ago.

Fridays will probably be a struggle as the schools do half day then (if that's still the case) but hopefully someone has something happening on a Monday.

Thank you, I will look into it. I did try one in Newtongrange on Mondays but felt quite cliquey like people were going along with their friends so weren't really there to meet people. I'm quite shy which doesn't help.

I'm shy too but when you have kids you pull up your big girl pants and do what you need to. 😂

I'd definitely give it a few weeks though. You just need to start to be a familiar face, plus other new people might arrive and you can be the friendly face to them.

I've have sussed though that some places seem to be more welcoming than others so maybe shop around.
