Looking to travel for a wedding at the end of May, Marseille, Nice or Montpellier woud all work. Currently I can only find one from Edinburgh to Nice with Easy jet. Is this going to be it or is there something I've not discovered yet?

Thanks

The number of flights to SoF from the UK has decreased significantly since Brexit and then C19. Depending on location and time available, might be worth looking into a flight/TGV combo. The overnight sleepers were the best way to do it, but they're long gone sadly.

You can search for destinations on the airport websites. From your choices, both Nice and Marseille are options from Edinburgh, with several flights to both each week, and Marseille is available from Glasgow. I imagine Prestwick might have something to offer too.
Try Skyscanner for options from different airports.

Edinburgh to Nice with Easyjet, Glasgow to Marseille but might be summer only also with Easyjet. Ryanair go from Edinburgh to Toulouse, Marseilles and Beziers. If you go on the websites and look for route maps, or where we fly pages, you can click around and see your options.

Bugger all from Prestwick, there are hardly any flights from there. Nothing to France at all.

Oh I love the TGV @unsync Used to do that a lot when we lived in England pre kids - Euro to Paris then down to Aix on the TGV - excellent times! Suppose we could do a night in Paris, more antsy with kids.

The only direct I can see on Sscannner is the easyJet from Edinburgh, EasyJet at 6am on first Sat of the Spring hols - it wouldn’t be my first choice if there was one 😵‍💫😂

Will try searching via airports directly - always forget that trick. Thanks all.

There's also Auxerre and Limoges Airports. Iirc, they also have good train links.

Newnameshoos · 31/12/2023 16:03

Family member flies via Zurich and gets the train from Nice across there. I think it's cheaper and more flights to Scotland available even with the train fare included

You can also do EDI to NCE or MRS via Orly with Transavia (owned by KLM) although I don't know what the schedule is. Your luggage should route through as it is connecting flight with same airline.
