Private flu vaccination for 5yo in Fife

DC's school appears to have been 'missed' despite us all sending the forms back in Sept.

Does anyone know where and if I could get this done privately. They're are discussions aroudn the last week of term - which as anyone who works in the NHS knows is far too bloody late!

I don't know but also interested (also in Fife). I need my 5yo and 2yo both done. There don't seem to be any more clinics listed on the website, they were all in October. The pharmacy I went to for our adult ones (Dears) say they do private children's but in reality wouldn't agree to take them.

I'm loathe to phone the GP as it is both a gruelling experience and a waste of their time but I don't know how else to access the information. I do work for the NHS but in a vastly different area and don't have any access to the information. At a total loss.

Looking on the Dears website it does show them as offering the vaccine to children. I'm going to try them again and see if they'll take them. I'll let you know if I have any success.

I got a chickenpox vaccine for kids through Dears and remember you could book online. Don't see why you couldn't get the flu spray if they list it.

Lloyds pharmacy often offers flu vaccines (or whatever they are known as now as they sold lots to other companies). And some superdrug stores do too

Pharmacists were told not to vaccinate school children until school clinics were finished to avoid possibility of double dosing (which has happened in other cohorts that were given option to go the pharmacy for NHS vaccines)

I asked in Dears Pharmacy today and they said there is a shortage of the nasal vaccine at the moment so ask again in a few weeks...

Our schools were missed last year because of strikes and the kids didn;t get their flu skoosh up the nose until a week before Christmas. They might still get it.

We missed last year's (different country). Managed to get in pharmacy but not until school programme had finished and had to go to a specific pharmacy in bigger town.
It was a bit of a pain to find out where. Try the bigger branches. It was free.
