A rare night away with DH, without the kids. What is the 'dress code'? Is it smart casual? Smart? A mix?

I'd think a mix. In my experience you can get dresses and heels side by side with jeans in Glasgow. Given the weather I'd probably go with a nice dress / skirt and flat boots.
