September holiday with a 3 year old?

We're new to holidaying in Scotland with a small child so looking for recommendations please! We'd like to go away for 5-7 days in mid/late September, ideally within a 3 hour drive of Glasgow. Pre-DC we'd have gone cycle-camping in the outer Hebrides or similar, but now looking for something with more three year old friendly options Grin Crieff is very much on the shortlist bit interested to hear about possible alternatives Smile

Your price range matters here! For us, we switched to renting cottages or caravan park style holidays, which children seem to love.

Good points! I have an irrational dislike of caravans but otherwise very much up for holiday cottage or cabin - would rather be self catering than in a hotel or B&B. I guess the main thing is to be somewhere with a good few suitable options for entertaining the three year old!

22nd-25th is a Glasgow holiday so you might struggle to book some places and the prices are always bumped up.

You can self cater at Auchrannie on Arran, they have swimming and I think a soft play. For general fun St Andrews is worth a look, lots for kids to do.

Aviemore - reindeer centre, strathspey railway, some easy walks, highland wildlife park, landmark adventure park, beach at Nairn, I think you can use the swimming pool
at the MacDonald resort as non-residents but check if that’s still the case……

Amazing, thanks for all the suggestions! I will check them all out today 😃
