Thanks everyone, i did look on groupon and itison but they are still really expensive. Things have certainly jumped in price since i last did anything like this. I shouldn't be surprised i guess.

I'll check out the other places suggested, i know sometimes booking direct you might get a decent offer.
If the weather was nicer we'd just go out for the day but its to rain so was trying to get something special indoors for the end of this week.

Lochside, Ayrshire is good and cheaper than many.

Peebles or one of the other hydro hotels, stobo castle, McDonald hotels in various locations
