Driving lessons Edinburgh, shocked at the prices!

Hi. I've just been quoted £45 per hour for a minimum 2 hour weekly lesson. It seems frightening! And more at weekends. Is this usual?

£40 an hour in Edinburgh and instructor has just had an injury that means he will be off for 2-3 months, so if anyone has a company or person they could recommend in Fairmilehead area, that would be great.

I don’t wish to derail the thread but curious about learning in London. DS lives there now after graduating, very central. What is it like to learn in London? He seems to think he’d need to travel to outskirts for lessons?

We found ds's instructor through the gov website. He turned 17 just as lockdown was lifted and any instructors we had recommended to us had huge waiting lists so we took a chance on an unknown and it worked out ok (and they were cheaper too!)

I found looking for their fb pages and messaging got more replies than emailing.

Thanks @WeAllHaveWings hopefully one has come through for us, but I'll definitely check that site if it doesn't pan out.
