I got my bill for the new council tax rates. I'm probably working it out wrong but if I was paying £139 a month, surely the new payment of £162 is more than 5%? I'll give them a call but if I am working it out wrong, could someone point it out to me before I make a fool of myself on the call!

Maybe you paid over 12 months last year and they have issued you a bill for 10 months?
or Water charge increase?
I hate the CT particularly since the SNP increased the multipliers for Band E and above, whilst not doing a revaluation, making an unfair tax a grossly unfair tax.

Water charges have also gone up 5% or something like that.

Definitely only paid over 10 months. I assumed as our water charges were in with the council tax charge that the 5% cover both?

There was a rebate last year- we all received a reduction, I think mine was about -£150.

My mum reminded me about it when I was complaining about the huge hike this year.

Not everyone - those in Band D and below. And again with the SNP dong no revaluation just adds salt to the wound 😄of their unfair tax.

I'm band C so will be included in that. So basically this year's hike just wipes out the rebate from last year! I'd have rather had 2 smaller increases.
