“A dangerous pervert who sexually assaulted a woman in a ladies' toilet claimed he was in there because he identified as female.

Ian Bullock, 39, subjected his victim to a 'vile' attack after loitering in the toilets at busy Birmingham New Street station.”
source - several Birmingham news websites

Nooo @Jacopo clearly didn't happen, what happened was the evil scary cis person must have terrified them of course. #thesethingsneverhappen.
Even if something happened is not anything to worry about remember....

He could also claim he's an alien. Doesn't mean he can't/ can go in a toilet.

ACynicalDad · 24/02/2023 14:24

I really hope this whole movement gets the wind taken out of it's sails after it did for Sturgeon and the politicians realise it's deeply troubling.

BannMan · 24/02/2023 14:30

Was Ian wearing pink leggings?

GoodChat · 24/02/2023 14:45

Absolute piece of shit. They should be allowed to castrate him if he's no longer a man.

There is a petition that needs another ~17k signatures to get a debate in the UK parliament to clarify the legal meaning of the words that I think would help stop this sort of thing happening.

"To update the Equality Act to make clear the characteristic ‘sex ‘ is biological
not sex as modified by a Gender Recognition Certificate."

Please do not think it is unnecessary because of what the Government response so far says on the petition page -
Legal experts have explained how, when it comes to litigation, a GRC trumps biological sex; and complications relating to the interaction between the Equality Act and the Gender Recognition Act mean organisations are often too concerned to allow single sex provision in practice.

From coverage in the Daily Mail : "BTP officers were called and officers arrested Bullock. When interviewed, Bullock tried to claim the reason he was in the toilets was he now identified as female, police said. Sources last night suggested it was an 'off the cuff remark' and stressed Bullock was treated as a man throughout proceedings."

But this is Isla Bryson all over again. According to the Scot Gov, a woman is anyone who says they are a woman. So Bullock is a woman because he said he was. The BTP are hugely transphobic (by Scottish standard) by suggesting this was an "off the cuff" remark. 🙄

Awful for the victim. But I am glad that cases like this are getting publicity as it will show the gender recognition act for the nonsense it is. Ian Bullock is a man. Isla Bryson is a man.

Jacopo · 25/02/2023 11:17

Yup, they’re men. But if he’d attempted to look more like a woman (he wasn’t wearing female clothes) would the police have been so quick to decide he’s a man? Or would they have been worried about being accused of transphobia?
