Touch of Tartan?

Hello!

My son is supposed to be wearing a 'touch of tartan' to school for burns night soon.

I'm struggling to think of boys accessories for this? Any ideas?! TIA

A tie or bow tie? A scarf? A tartan ribbon threaded through his belt loops? Tarzan ribbons as shoe laces?

Does he wear a shirt with a pocket? You get tartan handkerchiefs for top pockets for weddings. Or regular ties or bow ties. Even waist coats but that's more than a 'touch'

Get yourself down to your local charity shop and ask. I was volunteering yesterday and helped a mum with exactly this - we managed to find a wasitcoat, three ties, a couple of bits of ribbon and a tartan flat cap. She decided on the ribbon and was planning on making a wee loop thing like people wear for breast cancer or AIDS awareness and pin it to his uniform.
