Nice child friendly pub/restaurant north of Glasgow

I was wondering if anyone could recommend me somewhere in the north/north west of Glasgow (or 10-20mins drive out of town) to go for lunch - somewhere kind of cosy, nice food but not too formal? Somewhere with a big open fire and sofas would be ideal.

Thanks! I think I must have eaten in there before, I stayed in that Premier Inn next door when I did the West Highland Way once.

The Old Mill in Killearn is lovely, if that's not too far north.

Sorry OP I don't have any good suggestions, I only clicked on the thread as I wondered if Milngavie would be mentioned! Haven't lived in Glasgow for such a long long time. Hope you find a nice pub and I'll take note as I'll be back to visit family in the summer!
