Hi, my daughter is currently in primary 6 and I’m seriously considering making the switch. I’m specifically interested in the pastoral and non sports care side as she is top of the class, even the school in some aspects. I am therefore more interested in how they look after their students? What happens if any additional needs arise or if she happens to have a struggle down the line. We live in a “nice” area but our feeder secondary is not known for being a good one. I went there myself and transferred to another state secondary as it was so bad. Anyone? Thanks.

Not sure where you are in Glasgow but my DS started at Hutchie in p6, he's now at secondary there, and we're more than happy with the support and education there. The teachers and pupils all seem really kind and supportive. Education is obviously very good-small class sizes and enthusiastic, supportive teachers. Loads and loads of lunchtime and after school clubs-eg basketball, rugby, football, hockey, Lego club, debating club, 3d design, science, physics, photography, LGBTQ cafe, walking club, running, music club, etc etc. there's loads more but I can't remember. They made his transition seamless. I am 100% happy with the school choice. Good luck

Sorry also meant to say we were at a school meeting last night and while my DS doesn't have any additional needs (that we know of) they have a large additional needs 'department' if that's the correct term. We had a talk from the head of additional support needs and they discussed all the additional support available (laptops, extra time etc) and additional needs register.
I would chat to the school about it to ask any specific questions. I think the primary have an opening morning soon so that might be good to attend with your DD.
