DD a bit disappointed with her mark which was a B. Back to school today and teacher said she did very well in the performance but got 12/50 for the written - and that was one of the highest marks. Some of the others got 4 or 6 out of 50. This is not what was expected for any of them. Her drama teacher says the low marks in the written were replicated across Scotland (although how many candidates take H drama?)

Anyone shed any lights?

My daughter exactly the same. Got A in Pre-lim, did well in practical part & miserably in written (although there where she normally shines ) she ended up with a B but predicted A - no one in her cohort got an A (she got 4 highers at A & one B (drama

Thanks @beachcitygirl , DD's drama teacher is new to the school this year, she said that pupils from her old school did very poorly on the written too. One of the other drama teachers marks written papers too and she said the ones she marked were below what she'd expect too.

Seems something has gone very wrong somewhere, 12/50 in a written paper on drama for someone who simultaneously gets an A band 1 in English is just plain weird. Is your DD appealing? We can't as DD just missed out on an A in the prelim.

Yes, we're appealing & I'll keep you posted, but it's really thrown her confidence as she's doing advanced higher also & is worrying that she isn't good enough which is ludicrous with an A1 in English like you say.
Somethings gone a miss, would be intersting to see the data for all drama highers.
